Rooms show clear signs of wear, needing maintenance with old furniture and small TVs. The bathroom radiator constantly runs hot, creating an uncomfortable sauna-like experience, and the absence of air conditioning worsens the situation. There were also inconsistencies with the pre-arranged crib request that were never fulfilled, leading to safety concerns for a baby.

The bar area was a lekker spot after a long day, and the guy serving drinks was super friendly. Lekker brekkie with loads of options to fill you up for the day ahead. the location is pretty sharp-sharp, right near the shopping streets!
The room I got was quite outdated, really could do with a revamp.

Where do I even start? I can’t believe I had to wait to sort out my (clearly included) breakfast, while other guests were being whisked away. the noise was unbearable. it felt like people were having a party in the hallway. A simple upgrade would have been lovely. Just couldn’t give a good review, after that.

the holiday inn has a great location right by the centrum van essen, making it easy to explore. my room was clean and comfortable, and the bar area was a perfect spot to unwind. special mention to the friendly barman who worked hard to keep everyone happy and even provided pizzas late at night.
